DEFINITION OF TERMS

Physical Phase:
The phase of the challenge chemical during the test being reported: (solid-S, liquid-L, gas-G).

Fabric Weight:
The average weight in ounces of one square yard of material.

Grab Tensile Strength:
The force measured in pounds required to tear a material.

Elongation:
The percent stretch a material will yield before tearing.

Trapezoidal Tear Strength:
The force measured in pounds required to propagate an existing rip in a material.

Burst Strength:
The pressure (psi) required for a blunt object, like an elbow or knee, to burst through a material.

Flammability:
The burning characteristics of a material as tested and classified in accordance with CPSC 1610.4.
