KIMBERLY-CLARK REPEL® COVERALLS
RATED FOR LIQUID CHEMICAL SPLASHES,
PENETRATION OF BLOOD & BODY FLUIDS AND
BLOOD-BORNE PATHOGENS

ALPHARETTA, Ga. (September 24, 2001) — REPEL® coveralls from Kimberly-Clark pass ASTM F903 (Exposure Protocol C) penetration tests for the wide range of liquid chemicals represented by ASTM F1001, making the coveralls suitable as liquid chemical splash suits (for incidental splashes).

"REPEL® coveralls are an excellent, lower-cost alternative to traditional polyethylene-coated garments for users who are concerned only with incidental splash and not with molecular or chemical permeation," says Dennis Riffer, general manager, Kimberly-Clark Safety Division.

The rating makes REPEL® coveralls suitable for applications such as chemical handling and transport, acid splash situations, oil refineries, environmental clean-up, agricultural applications and biohazard cleanup, among other environments.

All penetration testing was conducted by an independent laboratory in accordance with the American Society for Testing and Materials standard test methods.

REPEL® coveralls also pass the ASTM F1670/1671 test for penetration of blood, body fluids and blood-borne pathogens*.

Kimberly-Clark REPEL® coveralls are made of a film-coated, lightweight, low-linting fabric. Anti-static treated and tough and durable on the outside, REPEL® coveralls have an inner cloth-like fabric that is comfortable against the skin.
