Do
I need an MSDS for my Kimberly-Clark apparel products?
Protective apparel products are considered to be an "article"
as defined in the OSHA regulations [29 CFR 1910.1200, Section (c)]. These
products (articles) do not release or otherwise result in exposure to
hazardous chemicals under the conditions of intended use. As stated in
Section (b), Subsection (5), the Hazard Communication Standard does not
apply to such articles. Thus, a Material Safety Data Sheet is not required.
Does
Kimberly-Clark have a "polyolefin" garmet?
Yes, polyolefin is the chemical family name for a group of polymers. Kimberly-Clark
uses two of these polymers, polypropylene and polyethylene, in the manufacture
of our materials.
Do
you have cleanroom garmets?
KLEENGUARD® Select and other Kleenguard materials are low linting.
Although not packaged specifically as cleanroom garments, these products
can often meet the needs of class 1000 and higher cleanroom customers.
Do
you have data on lead, asbestos, arsenic, or other specific type particle
hold out?
It is difficult to obtain representative samples of actual hazardous particulates
like asbestos, lead and others. For this reason the particles used in
particulate hold out testing are generic, non-hazardous particles generated
in specific size ranges to provide data representative of a wide range
of particle sizes commonly found in industrial
environments.
